On Wednesdays We Wear Pink - Week 1

I decided to do this to brighten up my blog a little. I love pink and have lots of various different shades so I thought it would be fun to see how many weeks I could do this for!
For my first week I decided to go full on neon pink with Purple Crush by Orly. Although there is purple in the title I wouldn't consider this to be a purple at all. It's a hot, hot pink with a blue base. I'd say its maybe between cerise and fuchsia.

(Apologies for the naff little photo.  I couldn't get the right light at home so I ended up taking one on the way to work on my phone!  ^_^)

The Travelling Polish

I came across this wonderful idea in a group on Facebook called 'The Travelling Polish'.
Such a simple but exciting idea in which a bottle of nail polish travels to each person on a list of participants.  Each of these participants is able to use the polish to give themselves a manicure (it can be a full set of nails, an accent nail or used in a nail art design.. anything that person wants to do with it!) and then take pictures before sending it on to the next person with a postcard.  When the polish runs out another polish will be used in it's place!

There are already 32 polish lovers signed up from several different countries all over the world!  This is set to get started on the 1st of March so if you would like to take part head on over and join the group and get your name on the list!  The more the merrier, you will even get a say in what polish will be used.

See you over there!  ^_^

Nails Inc Magnetic Polishes

Now, when I speak to most people about magnetic nail polish they assume that it gives my nails the ability to pick up small metal objects.  For those people who haven't seen this type of polish before, it doesn't.... sorry!

So what is it?  It's a polish that creates a cool 3D kind of effect on the nails when a small magnet is placed over the top.
I first saw the magnetic polishes by LCN on various blogs.  I'd never seen anything like this before, although from what I gather this isn't a new thing!  Shortly after I saw that, Nails Inc announced they were bringing out their own range of magnetics and I ended up pre-ordering their first 3 colours straight away!

Feel Unique February Beauty Box

I absolutely loved this box. Out of the three I've received from them since December this has been my favourite but sadly it's also the last!  :(
A few days after this box arrived I received an email from Feel Unique to inform me that they were stopping the Beauty Box service.  I'm feeling very sad about this as I only discovered it a few months ago and I've found it to be one of the better services.  It's been consistently good and I haven't had any issues with the service at all.
However, on the bright side they also hinted at having something bigger and better in the works.  So I'll be keeping my ears open for any future news!

Butter London Artful Dodger

I picked up two gorgeous Butter London polishes on a recent shopping trip to Manchester.  I've been lusting after many of their polishes so I was really excited to finally see them for the first time in a store.  It was purely by accident that I saw these whilst browsing the beauty clearance section in Debenhams.  In the flesh the colours are stunning, more so than any picture I had seen on the net.  It was hard to choose but I picked out Thames, which I will review at a later time, and Artful Dodger.

Losing My Lush Virginity!

Yes, it's true!  Up until 10 days ago I was a Lush virgin!  I've walked past Lush shops in the past and the smell is always amazing yet I hadn't actually stepped foot inside to explore.  One of my best friends, on the other hand, is a complete Lush devotee and it's thanks to her that I'm turning into a total Lushie myself!

As it was my birthday last month I decided to treat myself to a few (!!) products.

I love using face masks and the feel of my skin afterwards so I knew I needed to try one from Lush.  The one that suited my skin type best was Oatifix (£5.75 / 75g).  This contains lots of loveliness such as oats (of course!), mashed bananas and ground almonds. It smells so delicious just like porridge and it's so tempting to have a little nibble! It has a nice thick texture and, as you need to store it in the fridge to keep it fresh, it's cool and soothing when applied.  It's just right for my dry and very sensitive skin leaving it super soft, although as with almost every face mask I've tried I can't apply it to my amazingly sensitive cheeks!
