Losing My Lush Virginity!

Yes, it's true!  Up until 10 days ago I was a Lush virgin!  I've walked past Lush shops in the past and the smell is always amazing yet I hadn't actually stepped foot inside to explore.  One of my best friends, on the other hand, is a complete Lush devotee and it's thanks to her that I'm turning into a total Lushie myself!

As it was my birthday last month I decided to treat myself to a few (!!) products.

I love using face masks and the feel of my skin afterwards so I knew I needed to try one from Lush.  The one that suited my skin type best was Oatifix (£5.75 / 75g).  This contains lots of loveliness such as oats (of course!), mashed bananas and ground almonds. It smells so delicious just like porridge and it's so tempting to have a little nibble! It has a nice thick texture and, as you need to store it in the fridge to keep it fresh, it's cool and soothing when applied.  It's just right for my dry and very sensitive skin leaving it super soft, although as with almost every face mask I've tried I can't apply it to my amazingly sensitive cheeks!

Chinese New Year Inspired Manicure

With the arrival of the Chinese new year I wanted to do something simple but effective on my finger tips.  I decided to go with a red and gold colour scheme as these are both traditionally associated with Chinese new year.  Red, of course, reminds me of the red envelopes that are given to children containing money.

I don't wear a lot of red on my nails but I dug out Tate by Nails Inc.  This is a delicious deep, cherry red colour with a creme finish.  Perhaps not exactly the right shade but it was the best I had.  I love Nails Inc polishes.  I always find they apply so easily and smoothly.

Nail Rock Nail Wraps.

I was really excited to receive these nail wraps in my November GlossyBox.  Although I've been tempted by some pretty cool designs, you can get anything from stars and lace to sexy animal prints, I'd never got round to purchasing a set.  The £5+ price tags from various companies was a little off putting to me.  Would they really last the 10 days being claimed?

I loved the 'Furry Cheetah' design I received and I was looking forward to an opportunity to give them a try.  The packaging is quite fantastic!  I would love to have leopard print lips like these too!  ^_^

December Beauty Boxes

December has been a very busy month but also a great month for those of us who are signed up to beauty boxes.  I have 4 fantastic boxes to share with those of you aren't yet signed up to any of these great services.

Feel Unique

This was my first box from Feel Unique.  Being the cheapest (just about at £9.95) it was interesting to see how it compared to the others.

The box is a sleek black 'drawer' type with a pull out section and shiny metallic pink writing on the top.
