Pretty Perfect Pastels

Hands up, who's ready for spring?

I'll admit it, I'm loving my Australian summer no matter how hot it gets!  But there is something about the freshness of the British springtime that I just love.  Perhaps it has something to do with bursts of colour starting to appear outside, there's nothing better than seeing those first daffodils poking their heads out of the ground.  For me it also means that summer is getting closer and maybe, just maybe, there will be a break in the grey rainy days and the sun will come out to play! (A girl can hope, right?)

I keep seeing pastels popping up everywhere ready for spring to arrive so I've put together a few of my favourite brands and the pastel shades they have on offer.  These are not all new colours but they definitely scream spring to me!

How To Be A Successful Backpacker. Lesson 2 - Visas, Tax and Bank Accounts.

Before you book your flight and jet of to explore you need to get yourself a visa.  As a backpacker the visa you will need is a Working Holiday Visa and you can get this from www.immi.gov.au along with loads of information which is well worth reading through.

What is a Working Holiday Visa?

A WHV allows people from other countries to live, work and study in Australia for up to 12 months.  It is primarily aimed at people who want to have an extended holiday which they supplement through casual work.  You must be between the ages of 18 and 30  to apply, which is super easy to do.  Simply fill in an online application, pay the fee (currently $365) and wait.  My application was approved within 6 hours so it's also quite quick too but bear in mind it can take up to 6 days to be granted (which is still pretty fast I think).

10 Things I'd Buy In The Illamasqua Sale

I am very sorry to say that I'm not a proud owner of any Illamasqua products so far  :(  I have tried their perfume Freak, which I absolutely loved and plan to buy in the future, but haven't had the pleasure of trying their cosmetics.  I've been lusting after their products for so long, particularly their nail polishes which I've heard such good things about.

They currently have a sale on their website with a ton of absolute bargains, many of which are priced at just £5!  Unfortunately for me I don't have the money to take advantage right now but here is my wishlist of things I'd be tempted to put in my shopping cart!

As always click on the links to take you through to the webpage  ;)

  1. Precision Ink in Havoc  -  £17.00 reduced to £5.00
  2. Liquid Metal Palette  -  £34.00 reduced to £20.00
  3. Pure Pigment in Incite  -  £15.50 reduced to £5.00
  4. Nail Varnish in Untold  -  £13.50 reduced to £5.00
  5. Sheer Lipgloss in Divine  -  £14.00 reduced to £5.00
  6. Pure Pigment in Zeitgeist  -  £15.50 reduced to £5.00
  7. Art Of Darkness Liquid Metal Palette  -  £34.00 reduced to £10.00
  8. Nail Varnish in Alarm  -  £13.50 reduced to £5.00
  9. Powder Eye Shadow in Burst  -  £15.50 reduced to £5.00
  10. Nail Varnish in Obsess  -  £13.50 reduced to £5.00

As you can see, most of my picks are just £5.00 and are much lower than the original prices!  Also if you spend over £35 your new goodies will be delivered for free.

Have you / will you be taking advantage of any of these awesome bargains?  What Illamasqua products do you swear by?

50 Questions Tag

So we're having a heatwave here and I'm sat here desperately trying to cool down knowing that it's not going to get any cooler than 27 degrees tonight!  I found this on GirlFridays Beauty Blog and thought I would complete it for a bit of fun.  Enjoy  :)

Where were you 3 hours ago?
Leaving work and limping home in our poorly car  :(

Who are you in love with?
My gorgeous boyfriend  :)

Have you ever eaten a crayon?
Not that I'm aware of.  My mum told me as a toddler I tried stuffing soil in my mouth though!

Is there anything pink within 10 feet of you?
Yes!  My water bottle has a hot pink lid and my pink sandals are on the floor next to the bed.

Two days ago but just to cash a cheque at the bank.

Are you wearing socks right now?
No, I hate wearing socks so I only wear them when when my feet are very cold.

Have you been to the movies in the last 5 days?
Nope.  I think the last thing I watched at the cinema was Prometheus (which I thought was quite disappointing).

What was the last thing you had to drink?
A glass of water.  I'm trying to drink at least 2 litres of water everyday instead of filling up with soft drinks.

What are you wearing right now?
A pair of black shorts and a floral vest top.

Do you wash your car or let the car wash do it?
Technically my boyfriends car which gets washed by hand.

Last food that you ate?
Cheese on toast.  I usually try to go for something healthier but we're poor thanks to a warped brake disc on the car so I had to make do with what was left in the fridge.

Where were you last week at this time?
Either sat by or in the pool.

Your dream vacation?
Hmm, either Japan or a road trip across America.  I'm currently travelling in Australia which is pretty awesome too  ;)

Do you miss anyone right now?
Yes, my friends and family.

What are your plans for tonight?
Not much.  Trying to keep as cool as possible by lying under the ceiling fan and consuming a huge amount of ice lollies!  :)

We didn't have that at our school but I was a prefect.

Yes and I'm loving it!

Yes

What does your last text message say?
From my boss saying "Good as"  (I've no idea what that means but I'm taking it to mean ok!).

I don't really enjoy running but I'm thinking of starting once I'm back in the UK as I'm trying to have a much healthier lifestyle but would find it impossible to do it here in the heat.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

This product is probably old news to everyone but I love it so much I wanted to feature it on my blog anyway  ;)  I was introduced to this by my best friend and before I saw this I had never even considered exfoliating my lips.  When I made my first visit to a Lush store I knew this was the one thing that I had to get!

A Million Kisses Lip Tint

I've had this lip tint by Lush for just about a year and up until recently I haven't really used it a lot.  I bought this last year during a birthday spending spree when I had the pleasure of making my first visit to a Lush store (If you want to see what else I bought check out this post).  I still can't believe it took me so long to get my butt in there because I really love their products and I now have several favourites that I enjoy using on a regular basis.

Burberry Lip Mist Copper No. 202

I love everything about this lipstick!  Being relatively new to the world of lipstick I found this incredibly easy to work with.  The glossy sheer finish is perfect for days when you don't want full on colour on your lips and feels super moisturising.  It compliments any skin tone, I've worn this with my normal pale skin colour and also with my lovely Australian tan and it looks great against both.
