Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Pastels

I've really been getting back into Barry M recently.  They're so affordable and for the price they're actually decent quality as far as a high street brand is concerned.  These 3 new Gelly pastel shades have been popping up on pretty much every blog I read so it's no surprise that I ended up adding them to my collection.  I'm so easily lead!  Oh, and keep reading below for a little giveaway I'm holding.

First up is Huckleberry, a pretty baby blue.  Not something I would normally pick up, in fact non of these really are if I'm going to be completely honest.  This is probably the one I like least out of the three.  It just doesn't leap out at me and is far too pale for my liking.  Rose Hip is a gorgeous super girly pastel pink which, although I like the colour, is not normally the shade of pink I would go for.  It's so pretty on the nail though that I think it will become a spring favourite.  And then there is Sugar Apple, a kind of minty pastel green.  I almost didn't get this but I don't have anything like this already so I thought I would give it a bash.  Thinking it would be my least favourite I'm quite surprised to say that this is my number one out of the three!  It looks a little brighter on the nail than it did in the bottle and I think it's just perfect for spring.

The formula for each one of these is pretty similar.  They are quite thick and the first coat applied quite patchy.  It took a second and third coat to even it out but once dried it's opaque and beautifully glossy.

Because I'm so lovely and thoughtful I picked up an extra bottle of each of these polishes along with the super gorgeous and summery Gelly Hi Shine Lip Crayon in a stunning hot, hot pink which I'll be reviewing in a couple of days if you're interested to know what it's like.  To enter simply follow the instructions below.  Closing date is April 14th.  Good luck!

Prize:
Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish in Huckleberry (pastel blue)
Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish in Rose Hip (pastel pink)
Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish in Sugar Apple (pastel green).
Gelly Hi Shine Lips in Electra (super hot pink!)

Due to the wonderful restrictions imposed by Royal Mail this competition will be open to UK residents only.

I definitely agree with you, it is brighter but I'm glad as I prefer how it looks on the nail to the bottle :)

It is very pretty but a little on the pale side for me. No doubt it will grow on me though :)
