When it comes to food I love to try different and unusual things. Whilst looking for somewhere to go for lunch to celebrate my birthday I heard about an African restaurant that served up all kinds of unusual meats. Perfect! Si and I visited Jabula on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and were seated straight away. It's not a huge place but it has a really nice vibe to it. The tables were dressed with animal print table cloths and there were plenty of African style decorations around the place.

Elegant Touch Envy Nail Wraps Deckchair Pastels
I've tried a few different brands of nail wraps before and I like the idea of them. They're quick and easy to apply (once you get the hang of the method) and you can have instant, no hassle mess free nail art, which is especially great for those of us who aren't particularly artistically talented. I spied a whole bunch of various nail wraps on sale for £1 in Boots a few weeks back and literally grabbed one of each design to try out!

Easy Minted Lamb Burgers
Lamb and mint is one of those perfect traditional food combinations. I actually really like lamb however up until the last month or so I haven't been eating a whole lot of it. Recently I've been making my own lamb burgers and have a very simple and tasty recipe which makes 4 small or 2 large patties. I'm not huge on bread and tend to skip it when I can so, whilst Si likes his on a toasted bun with lettuce and cheese, I like to have mine with some white cheese (cheshire or wensleydale) crumbled over the top and served with lettuce and baked sweet potato.

Rimmel Scandaleyes
A while ago I picked up two of the Scandaleyes products by Rimmel. I was in desperate need of a decent mascara at a high street price and the Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara (£6.99) seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I've always been a fan of Rimmel and for a good few years I only ever used their eyeliners and mascaras.

Hot Milk Cake with Blueberry Compote
I love cake and one of my favourite memories of growing up is all the amazing birthday cakes my mum used to make for myself and my siblings. Every year she would put in extraordinary amounts of effort to make the most fantastic and imaginatively designed cakes. Between us we've had everything from huge princess castles, pirate treasure, racing cars... in fact you name it and one of us have probably had it!
